Steven J. Hartung - Board Chairman

Steve and his wife Beth Ann live near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Steve is the Executive Vice President and Secretary at Hartung Brothers, Inc.  He formerly served as a partner in the law firm of Foley & Lardner and as general counsel of a family office serving a group of global manufacturing companies.  Steve actively serves Christ at Lakewood Baptist Church in Pewaukee, Wisconsin as a teacher, missions leader, disciple-maker, and deacon. Steve has been actively involved in missions for the past 30 years, strategically using his gifts to advance the gospel in hard places. Steve helps the CABC USA board with legal requirements, both locally and internationally.

Phil Gordon - Board Treasurer

Phil and his wife Lori live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area where Phil serves at Grace Bible Church of Milford as an Elder and treasurer.  Phil retired from Procter & Gamble in 2020 after 33 years of work in  Manufacturing Operations and Human Resources.  He has been actively involved in missions throughout his adult life, including visiting and assisting works in many different parts of world.  Phil and Lori are parents of three adult girls, who are each married and (so far) have given them four beautiful grandchildren!  Their oldest daughter and her husband (Brett & Brittni Stowe) serve as missionaries to South Africa.  Phil helps the CABC USA board with thoughtful balance and vital analysis of projects and decisions.

Ken Mbugua - Board Member

Ken and his wife Arlette live in Nairobi, Kenya, where Ken serves as the teaching pastor at Emmanual Baptist Church. He also serves as Director of Ekklesia Afrika, a publishing ministry committed to providing affordable theological and ministry resources for the African church. Ken is passionate about seeing healthy churches multiply across Africa. As a Kenyan graduate of Central Africa Baptist University, he brings a helpful perspective and sound guidance to the implementation of the mission of CABC USA.

Sam Horn - Board Member

Sam and his wife Beth live in California where Sam serves as President of The Masters University and Seminary. Sam has a passion for communicating God's Word passionately and effectively through preaching, teaching, and writing; introducing people to Christ and engaging with them in spiritual growth and discipleship; pastoral ministry in a local church context; training and preparing the next generation of Christian servants for gospel ministry in an academic environment; and training and developing national leaders in foreign fields. As an educator who has also served a local church pastor, Sam has a heart for the world. He contributes to CABC USA by bringing a perspective of higher education and the ability to apply those standards in a cross-cultural context. Sam is a founding board member of CABU.

Rod Reasen - Board Member

Rod is an entrepreneur businessman with a passion for global gospel advance. Rod and his wife Stephanie serve the Lord at Trinity Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Rod serves as a teacher, disciple-maker, and deacon. Before Co-Founding Springbuk, Rod was the CEO of the Healthiest Employers award program, designed to celebrate the healthiest workplaces in America. Rod'spassion in his professional life is finding creative and innovative ways to help organizations improve their employees' health outcomes. Rod contributes to CABC USA with his gifts of vision and processes that enable the vision and mission to be realized.


Kevin Cassidy - Board Member

Kevin currently serves as the stateside Director of Advancement for Central Africa Baptist University.

Dr. Cassidy seeks to present the ministry of CABU in local churches and meets with our financial partners seeking to grow our relationships. He and his wife Karen have been involved in church planting and pastoral ministry for almost 40 years.

Kevin has been active in missions and has made numerous trips abroad to teach and train pastors. Kevin serves the CABC USA board by bringing a local church perspective of missions and theological training

Philip Hunt - Board Member

Phil currently serves as the pastor for teaching and vision at Kitwe Church. Phil and his wife Lori live in Kitwe, Zambia, where they are involved in serving the church, making disciples and equipping leaders for healthy churches. Phil also serves as President/Vice-Chancellor of Central Africa Baptist University, a board member at Faith Children's Village Orphanage in Kitwe and is the Africa Director for IBMGlobal a church-based mission agency in the United States.



Roland Thompson

Roland Thompson - Board Member

‘Roland has spent his career applying Biblical principles of leadership and decision-making to business. His experience spans from startups to Fortune 500 companies operating in the United States, Europe, and Australia.Roland currently co-operates Thompson & Blackstone, Inc., a business think tank and investment evaluation platform. His background includes a mix of entrepreneurism, business analysis, engineering, and design. He was also the co-founder of both Frontline Education and CF InFlight, LLP. Frontline Education is an Ed-Tech platform used by most school districts in America, and CF Inflight engineered and introduced the Emmy award-winning Skycam (www.skycam.tv) to the sports broadcasting world (Skycam is used all over the world and is featured on almost all major market American football broadcasts, including Monday Night Football). He has a tremendous amount of experience analyzing new markets and establishing and growing businesses. Prior to these ventures, he spent 10 years building an IT services organization focused on delivering services and software for stock and currency trading applications, as well as developing mobile technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies.Roland lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Lisa, and has three children:Christopher, Stephen, and Alicia. Roland is active in his church, Bible Baptist Church of West Chester, and has served as deacon, the chair of deacons, a Sunday school teacher, and a youth worker. Roland also sits on various foundations and educational institution boards. He also enjoys mentoring young Christian entrepreneurs as well as flying.”
